Dr. Mariah Boudreau

July 24th, 2024

We are thrilled to announce that Mariah Boudreau has successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis in Mathematical Sciences on July 24th. Mariah's work at the University of Vermont, within the Vermont Complex Systems Center, has focused on network science applied to biology, with a specific interest in stochastic models such as branching processes. She was a key member of both the Joint Lab and the Computational Story Lab, and an NSF QuEST trainee. Beyond her research, Mariah was truly the glue that held the program together. She brought out the best in everyone, fostering collaboration and ensuring the lab remained not only a space for great science, but also a grounded and supportive community. Her thoughtful mentorship and leadership helped her peers become better scientists and, importantly, better people.

Mariah is now a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Computational Medicine research group at the Roux Institute at Northeastern University, where she will continue her research in network analysis and disease dynamics.

Congratulations, Mariah, on this achievement! Best of luck as you embark on this exciting new chapter.

Watch her defense here.
