Giulio holds a M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from University of Catania (Italy) and a Ph.D. from the Computer Science and Mathematics Department at the Rovira i Virgili University (Spain). He is interested in the physics behind the macroscopic behavior of a variety of complex (networked) systems, mostly in the biological and socio-technical realms. His research mainly focuses on biological and social contagion processes and the evolution of cooperative behaviors. He has dedicated most of his work to understanding how higher-order (non-dyadic) interactions and group structure affect macroscopic dynamics.
